Rome launches new urban itineraries to explore peripheral neighborhoods
Two new urban itinerary projects, ‘Fuori Centro’ and ‘Linea C’, are launching in Rome to highlight the history, culture, and local activities of the city's peripheral neighborhoods. Supported by the Rome Capitale Department for Peripheries, these initiatives aim to shift focus from the traditional city center to outlying areas.
‘Fuori Centro’, a project by La Pecora Nera with ATAC as a mobility partner, uses gastronomy as a gateway to explore neighborhoods such as Torre Maura, Acilia, Tufello, Spinaceto, and Primavalle. The program features visits to local markets, shops, restaurants, and artisan workshops to showcase the identity and daily life of these districts.
Simultaneously, the ‘Linea C’ project, promoted by Ottavo Colle Aps, uses the metro line as a guide to connect the city's archaeological and monumental center with eastern peripheral districts. Scheduled walks will visit locations including Mirti, Colosseo, Torre Spaccata, Pigneto, and Grotte Celoni between September and November.
