Rome: Man arrested for attempted car theft and resisting police

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Rome after attempting to break into parked vehicles along Via Flaminia. The suspect, who had covered his face, was first spotted and detained by members of the Reggimento Corazzieri passing through the area.

Upon the arrival of the Carabinieri from the Trionfale Company, the individual reportedly resisted arrest with violence, including kicks, punches, and spitting. This aggressive behavior continued even after he was taken to the Command offices for identification and processing.

During a personal search, authorities seized tools used in the attempted theft, including a 76-centimeter handmade crowbar and a folding knife with an 8-centimeter blade. The man faces charges of attempted aggravated theft and resistance to a public official.
