Rome police arrest man for stalking former colleague
A 61-year-old man has been arrested in Rome on charges of stalking after a prolonged campaign of harassment against a former colleague. The investigation revealed that the man followed the woman despite her changing jobs and attempting to distance herself.
According to police reports, the perpetrator engaged in various intrusive behaviors, including leaving notes on her car windshield, sending numerous emails, and sending persistent messages. The harassment escalated when the man traveled over 200 kilometers to follow the victim during her vacation.
The situation culminated in the Appio Claudio area of Rome, where the woman spotted the man lurking in his car by the roadside while she was out with friends. She contacted emergency services, leading to the intervention of the Tuscolano Police Station. While the man claimed he was merely attempting to return personal items and deliver gifts, the victim provided photographic and video evidence to support her allegations of stalking.
