Rome residents report organized crime network occupying apartments

Residents in the Cinecittà area of Rome report that an organized criminal network is illegally occupying Enasarco apartments. Approximately 29 units have been occupied over the last three years through a repetitive mechanism where individuals identify vacant properties, break in, and change the locks.

According to local testimonies, the network charges between 20,000 and 30,000 euros for access to an apartment. Once the initial fee is paid, the occupants reportedly do not cover ongoing costs, leaving unpaid taxes and building expenses to be borne by the other property owners in the condominium.

Due to the absence of clear owners and difficulties with law enforcement intervention, residents claim they have been forced to organize their own patrols to protect their buildings.
