Rome to hold electronic identity card open days on August 29-30
Rome will hold extraordinary open days for the issuance and renewal of electronic identity cards (CIE) on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, 2026. These sessions aim to facilitate document processing for citizens, including cases of theft or loss.
On Saturday, August 29, Municipio VII (Piazza Cinecittà 11) will be open from 8:30 to 14:00. On Sunday, August 30, Municipio III (Via Fracchia 45) will operate from 8:00 to 16:00. Additionally, several locations including Piazza delle Cinque Lune, Piazza Sonnino, Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, and Via Petroselli 52 will be active on both days, with Saturday hours from 8:30 to 16:30 and Sunday hours from 8:30 to 12:30.
Appointments are mandatory and can be booked via the Ministry of the Interior’s Agenda CIE portal starting from 9:00 on Friday, August 28, until availability is exhausted. Applicants must bring a passport photo, an electronic payment card, and their previous document.
