Rome transport disruptions worsen with ATAC line 495 terminal closure and road works
Construction work in Rome’s Valle Aurelia district has turned the ATAC line 495 terminus into a construction site, halting the service and leaving commuters dependent on limited replacement shuttles. Lega city councilor Daniele Giannini has accused Mayor Roberto Gualtieri’s administration of mishandling the project and is demanding the immediate reinstatement of the terminal.
A regional traffic bulletin from Lazio reports additional disruptions: road traffic is blocked between Castelnuovo di Porto and Fiano Romano, with diversions onto side lanes; works continue on the Salaria over‑pass; and the Lepanto metro station is closed, with trains passing without stopping and passengers redirected to the nearby Ottaviano station. Further adjustments affect regional rail services through July and August.
