Romeu Zema brands Flávio Bolsonaro’s link to banker Daniel Vorcaro a betrayal of Novo
Romeu Zema, former Minas Gerais governor and pre‑presidential candidate for the Novo party, intensified his criticism of senator Flávio Bolsonaro after the revelation that Bolsonaro met with banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master. Zema called the relationship a "betrayal" of Novo, saying the party was not warned about the contact and that members had assumed no such ties existed. He previously labeled Bolsonaro’s request for money from Vorcaro as "imperdoable".
Vorcaro, who was imprisoned at the end of 2025, had financed the film "Dark Horse," a biopic of former president Jair Bolsonaro, with payments totaling about R$ 61 million. Flávio Bolsonaro admitted to meeting Vorcaro to "close the issue" surrounding that financing. Zema emphasized that credibility is essential for any candidate who wishes to lead Brazil, underscoring the internal rift within the right‑wing camp ahead of the upcoming election.
