Rompetrol Downstream opens first service areas on Transylvania Motorway

The first modern service areas on the Transylvania Motorway (A3) have opened near Sânpaul, close to Târgu Mureș. Rompetrol Downstream inaugurated the first fuel stations at this location, marking a milestone for the road corridor.

The project involved an investment of approximately $4.8 million by Rompetrol Downstream under a concession contract with the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR). The two new units feature a premium gastronomic and retail concept, providing high-performance fuels, electric vehicle charging stations, and facilities for both passenger cars and heavy goods vehicles.

According to State Secretary Horațiu Cosma, these facilities aim to provide essential services that have been missing from various motorway sectors for years. The opening has also created over 30 new jobs in Mureș County. Future plans include developing service areas on the Sucevei ring road, the A0 Bucharest ring road, the A7 Moldova motorway, and other major routes.
