Ronan O'Gara extends Stade Rochelais contract until 2031
Stade Rochelais has officially announced that Irish manager Ronan O'Gara has extended his contract until June 2031. O'Gara, who joined the club in 2019 and has led the first team since 2021, will remain in his role for an additional five seasons.
Under O'Gara's leadership, the club achieved significant success, including consecutive Champions Cup titles in 2022 and 2023. Despite recent sporting challenges, including a group stage exit in European competition, club president Vincent Merling and the management have expressed continued confidence in the 49-year-old coach.
O'Gara cited his deep connection to the city and the club as primary reasons for staying, stating that the move is about more than just a job. The extension is intended to provide long-term stability and allow O'Gara greater influence over the club's sporting project and squad construction.
