Rosa Plaza celebrates 50 years of flower cultivation
Rosa Plaza, a family-owned flower cultivation company, is celebrating its 50th anniversary and 20 years of rose production in Ethiopia. The Ammerlaan family business, currently managed by sons Frank and Wim Jr., has recently opened a new processing location at the Royal FloraHolland site in Aalsmeer.
The company’s operations in Ethiopia include two nurseries in Ziway and Bishoftu, covering over 50 hectares and employing more than 1,500 people. These high-altitude farms utilize natural solutions for soil health and crop protection while adhering to Dutch standards without the use of energy for cultivation. In addition to roses, the company has expanded its production to include alstroemeria.
