Rosario proposes QR payments for measured parking, Mendoza expands card system

The Rosario City Council approved a project to add QR‑code payment to its measured‑parking zones. Councilor María Fernanda Gigliani presented the initiative, which would let drivers scan a QR code on street signs to pay without downloading an app. Officials say the system will speed up transactions, reduce payment‑related violations and modernise the service.

In Mendoza, the municipal government began operating a traditional card‑based measured‑parking system on Lavalle Street, covering the stretch between Avenida San Martín and Calle Salta. The change adds 60 new spaces, bringing the total to 150 slots in the city centre. Parking is available Monday‑Friday 14:00‑20:00 and Saturdays 08:00‑13:00, aiming to improve traffic flow, increase turnover of spots and support local commerce.
