Rosario hosts Turismo Carretera racing after seven-year hiatus
The Turismo Carretera racing series returned to the Juan Manuel Fangio Municipal Autodrome in Rosario, marking its first appearance in the city in nearly seven years. The event, part of the 2026 championship, drew more than 40,000 spectators over the weekend.
Santa Fe Governor Maximiliano Pullaro attended the event, stating that the return of major sporting and cultural activities is a key step in positioning Rosario as a hub for large-scale events. He noted that such gatherings provide significant boosts to local sectors, including gastronomy, hospitality, and regional commerce.
The race weekend saw high fan engagement, with many spectators arriving early to camp at the circuit. The main event featured a dominant performance by Uruguayan driver Mauricio Lambiris.
