Rotary Club of Erice donates beach wheelchair to improve accessibility at Lido Smile

The Rotary Club Trapani Erice, together with its Rotaract and Interact youth groups, presented a specially designed beach wheelchair to the municipality of Erice. The donation was made during a ceremony at the seaside resort Lido “Smile”, attended by local officials including Mayor Daniela Toscano and Councilor Carmela Daidone.

The wheelchair, capable of moving on sand and off‑road terrain, will enable people with mobility disabilities to reach the shoreline and enjoy the sea more independently. The initiative reflects Rotary International’s 2023 theme of diversity, equity and inclusion, and highlights the cooperation between civic associations and local government to remove architectural barriers and promote inclusive leisure spaces.
