Rotterdam market vendor's truck destroyed by arson

A delivery truck belonging to market trader Mohammad Abdellati was set on fire in the early hours of 24 July in Rotterdam‑South, near Brielselaan and Dossche Mills. The blaze completely destroyed the vehicle and its load of food, marking the third arson attack on Abdellati’s trucks within weeks.

The vendor previously reported a total loss of a truck on 5 July and an attempted arson on 22 July that resulted in two arrests, but no new arrests have been made following the latest incident. Abdellati said the loss could force him to cease his market business and appealed for information, urging anyone with witnesses or CCTV footage to contact police. The investigation into the series of arsons remains ongoing.
