Royal Caribbean Group acquires 50% stake in Sandals Resorts

Royal Caribbean Group has entered into a strategic alliance with Sandals Resorts, acquiring a 50% stake in the all-inclusive resort operator for approximately US$3 billion. This move marks Royal Caribbean Group’s first major expansion into land-based holiday accommodations.

The partnership aims to integrate Royal Caribbean’s cruise portfolio—which includes Celebrity Cruises and Silversea—with the extensive Caribbean resort network of Sandals and Beaches Resorts. By combining cruise and land-based experiences, the companies intend to capture a larger share of total vacation spending within their combined ecosystem.

Sandals Resorts, which operates across several Caribbean nations including Jamaica, Antigua, and Saint Lucia, will continue to be guided by Executive Chairman Adam Stewart. The joint venture will be led by Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, and Adam Stewart.
