Royal Caribbean reroutes multiple ships to Canada due to weather
Royal Caribbean has redirected several cruise ships to Canadian ports following adverse weather conditions that made original itineraries unsafe.
Passengers aboard the Oasis of the Seas, which departed from Cape Liberty, New Jersey, were rerouted from a seven-day trip to Florida and the Bahamas to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Similarly, the Independence of the Seas was diverted from a scheduled visit to Bermuda to an overnight stay in Saint John, New Brunswick, after weather along the US East Coast made the original route unsuitable.
A third vessel, Harmony of the Seas, has also had its itinerary altered due to unfavorable forecasts, though it is still expected to reach its scheduled destinations in the Bahamas. The cruise line stated that passenger and crew safety remains the priority when making such adjustments.
