Royal Enfield begins deliveries of its first electric motorcycle in India

Royal Enfield has started delivering its inaugural electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, to customers in Bengaluru, India. The model, released under the company’s new EV sub‑brand Flying Flea, combines a retro design inspired by World War II British paratrooper bikes with modern technology. It is powered by a 15.4 kW permanent‑magnet synchronous motor delivering 60 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 115 km/h. The 3.91 kWh battery provides an IDC‑rated range of up to 154 km, with charging from 20 % to 80 % taking about 65 minutes and a full charge just over two hours. Features include ABS, traction control, a TFT touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, Google Maps integration, wireless phone charging and full‑LED lighting. The bike is priced at ₹279,000 (approximately US$2,500‑3,200) and is positioned for urban and peri‑urban riders, with future export plans hinted at by the company.
