Royal Enfield suspends Himalayan 440 bookings due to high demand

Royal Enfield has temporarily suspended new bookings for the Himalayan 440 in India after consumer demand significantly exceeded internal projections. The company reported that six months of planned production inventory has already been sold out following the model's launch on September 2. The manufacturer is currently focusing on fulfilling existing orders while working to scale up production capacity to meet the surge in interest.

The Himalayan 440 was designed as a simpler, more accessible alternative to the more advanced Himalayan 450, combining the styling of the original Himalayan 411 with the 443cc engine from the Scram 440. This strategy to cater to enthusiasts preferring a less electronic-heavy machine has resulted in a waiting period of approximately six months.

In the Brazilian market, Royal Enfield continues to expand its Himalayan 450 lineup. The company has introduced a new Kaza Brown color option, priced at R$ 29,990, which serves as the most accessible version in the range by utilizing tube-type tires. The Himalayan 450 model has recorded 12,500 units sold in Brazil since March 2025.
