Royal Enfield Himalayan line sees electric debut in India and price/maintenance debate in Brazil

In Brazil, a price and maintenance cost comparison between the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Chinese CFMOTO Ibex 450 shows the Himalayan priced between R$29,990 and R$31,990, while the Ibex is listed at R$35,990. Although the Himalayan is cheaper to buy, the estimated cost of routine parts replacement over time favours the Ibex, with a total parts cost of roughly R$2,104 compared with R$4,050 for the Himalayan.

In India, Royal Enfield is preparing an all‑electric version of its popular Himalayan adventure tourer. Spy images reveal a 14 kWh battery pack that should deliver about 200–250 km on a single charge. The electric model retains the ICE version’s silhouette, LED headlamp, front windscreen, rear mirrors, single‑piece seat and front rack, while adding fin‑type magnesium battery casing for cooling and UK‑sourced wire‑spoke wheels fitted with Bridgestone Battlax AdventureCross tyres. The prototype has been seen at Motoverse 2025 in Goa, but a launch date has not been announced.
