Royal Enfield launches Himalayan 440 in India
Royal Enfield has launched the Himalayan 440 in India, a model designed to honor the spirit of the original Himalayan while addressing consumer demand for a simpler, more affordable alternative to the newer Himalayan 450.
The new motorcycle features a 443cc single-cylinder engine producing 25.4 hp and 34 Nm of torque. It includes a six-speed gearbox with short ratios intended to facilitate low-speed riding and touring. Technical specifications include a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, a 300 mm front disc brake, and dual-channel ABS with a disengageable function for off-road use.
In India, the Himalayan 440 is priced starting at 2.29 lakh rupees (approximately 2,070 euros), which is lower than some industry expectations. While the model is currently exclusive to the Indian market, its introduction serves as a response to customers who valued the simplicity of the discontinued Himalayan 411.
