Royal Enfield rolls out girder‑fork suspension for electric Flying Flea and adds free gear‑indicator retrofits for 350 s

Royal Enfield has filed patent applications for a modernised girder‑fork front suspension that will be used on its upcoming electric Flying Flea C6. The design retains the historic two‑upright girder layout but positions two low‑mounted spring‑damper units within the girder legs, delivering up to 100 mm of travel that translates to about 60 mm of shock stroke. This arrangement offers progressive or linear response tuning and frees up space for the headlight, improving aerodynamics.

Separately, the company is now fitting gear‑position indicators at no cost on 350 cc models—including the Classic, Goan Classic, Hunter and Meteor—that were previously shipped without the feature due to a rare‑earth magnet shortage. Retrofits will be carried out at authorized service centres, with owners notified individually. The shortage easing follows increased local rare‑earth production and supply agreements with the United States, Japan and Argentina.
