Royal Enfield to launch Himalayan 440 in September 2026

Royal Enfield has announced the official release of the new Himalayan 440, scheduled for September 4, 2026. The new model is designed to bridge the gap between the original Himalayan 411 and the more modern, liquid-cooled Himalayan 450.

Unlike the high-revving Sherpa 450 engine, the Himalayan 440 will utilize the LS440 air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, previously introduced in the Scram 440 model. This engine features a long-stroke design (81 x 86 mm) producing approximately 25.4 CV at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A significant upgrade from the older 411 model is the inclusion of a six-speed gearbox to improve highway riding.

The motorcycle maintains much of the classic Himalayan aesthetic and utility, including a 21-inch front wheel, spoke rims with inner tubes, and approximately 200 mm of suspension travel. It will also feature dual-channel ABS, with the ability to disable the rear ABS.
