Royal Mail delivery delays affect 90 UK postcodes on July 27

Royal Mail confirmed that 90 postcodes across the United Kingdom experienced delayed deliveries on Monday, 27 July 2026. The disruptions were reported in areas such as Gloucester in Gloucestershire and several locations in Merseyside, including New Ferry.

The company said the delays stem from local issues – for example, high staff sick‑leave rates or resource constraints – and that staff are rotating deliveries and receiving targeted support to restore normal service. Royal Mail also noted that its air and road networks remain on schedule.

In the week before the disruptions, Royal Mail introduced a redesigned delivery card equipped with a QR code, allowing customers to scan the card and instantly view the parcel’s location and status through the Royal Mail app or website.
