Rozwoju Plus MEPs leave PiS delegation in European Parliament
Three Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) associated with the Rozwoju Plus movement have decided to leave the Law and Justice (PiS) delegation in the European Parliament. The departing MEPs are Piotr Müller, Michał Dworczyk, and Waldemar Buda.
Michał Dworczyk confirmed the decision was made on Wednesday, noting that the group has not yet finalized a name for its new delegation or determined its political group affiliation. Dworczyk indicated a preference for joining the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group, though this remains unconfirmed.
The move follows a decision by the PiS Disciplinary Court two weeks ago to expel 40 parliamentarians—including 38 MPs and 2 senators—from the party. These individuals, including former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, were cited for violating the party statute by joining a different parliamentary club.
Mateusz Morawiecki has announced that a new political party will be officially established by October 15, coinciding with a planned convention for Rozwoju Plus. The movement reportedly has approximately 3,000 declared members.
