Rozwoju Plus responds to PiS criticism regarding polling trends
Politicians from the Rozwoju Plus party have dismissed claims by Law and Justice (PiS) members that the group is facing internal dissatisfaction due to declining poll numbers. PiS representatives suggested that Rozwoju Plus support has dropped to a median of 6 to 6.5 percent and that leadership is attempting to mask a lack of momentum.
Robert Gontarz, a Rozwoju Plus MP, countered these assertions, stating that the party's trend is stable or even increasing. He characterized the PiS narrative as a calculated attempt to convince voters that Rozwoju Plus must return to the PiS fold. Gontarz emphasized that the party is focused on substantive policy work, such as their report regarding the reset of the Constitutional Tribunal.
The political tension is further complicated by disagreements over European Union policy. Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, a member of Rozwoju Plus, has distanced himself from PiS positions regarding Polexit. PiS politicians have criticized this stance, suggesting it aligns Morawiecki with Donald Tusk and the Civic Coalition (KO).
