Mohan Bhagwat to tour US, Canada, and UK for RSS centenary

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to embark on a three-nation tour of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom starting August 25. The visit, part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s centenary year celebrations, aims to engage with the Indian diaspora and discuss Indian culture and society.

The tour has drawn political scrutiny. Congress MP Jairam Ramesh alleged that directors of various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) were mobilized to contact alumni to facilitate interactions with Bhagwat during his US visit, calling the involvement of technical institution heads “totally unacceptable.”

Additionally, a report by the anti-supremacy platform Savera has raised questions regarding the organizational machinery behind the outreach. The report, titled “Fibs, Fronts & Fixers,” suggests that some hosting organizations, such as the American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD) Forum, may be linked to RSS-affiliated networks like the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS).
