RTD beverage market sees innovation in UK and Australia
The ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage sector is seeing significant innovation and growth driven by evolving consumer preferences for convenience and personalization.
In the United Kingdom, Pernod Ricard is launching Malibu Punch, a new line of 10% ABV canned cocktails. Available in Watermelon, Peach Tea, and Piña Colada flavors, the 237ml cans are designed for high-energy social settings like festivals and house parties. This move follows data showing that the UK RTD market grew 28% in value year-on-year, with higher-alcohol products driving much of that acceleration.
In Australia, the Original Spirit Co is introducing CUE Vodka Fusions to address the demand for quality and customization. Unlike traditional pre-mixed cans, these 62ml aluminum bottles contain a premium drink concentrate made with triple-distilled vodka, real fruit juice, and mineral salts. The product allows consumers to control their serve by adding their own mixers, such as soda, tonic, or prosecco, offering a ‘better for you’ alternative with no added sugar or artificial flavors.
