RTS Link nears completion to connect Singapore and Johor Bahru

The RTS Link, a high-speed rail project connecting Singapore and Johor Bahru, is entering its final stages of integration testing. Once operational early next year, the link is expected to reduce the end-to-end journey between the two locations to just six minutes.

The project aims to alleviate persistent traffic congestion on the Causeway, which currently handles approximately 300,000 commuters daily. The system will have a capacity to transport roughly 10,000 passengers in each direction.

The total budget for the project is S$3.24 billion, with Singapore covering 61% of the costs and Malaysia responsible for the remaining 39%.
