Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah clash over child custody and school fees

A legal dispute has emerged between Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah regarding the management of their children's educational expenses. Ruben Onsu's legal counsel, Minola Sebayang, criticized Sarwendah's role as the primary custodian, suggesting that while she holds custody, Ruben is the one responsible for financing maintenance and education, comparing her role to that of a “babysitter.”

On the other side, Sarwendah's legal team, represented by Abraham Simon and Chris Sam Siwu, clarified that the conflict arose from Ruben's unilateral attempt to contact the school directly to inquire about fees and transfer the registered payment account. They stated that the school follows administrative procedures based on a Notarial Deed (Akta Notaris No. 39), which recognizes Sarwendah as the legal guardian and the primary contact for all administrative matters. The legal team emphasized that any changes to the payment mechanism must be coordinated through Sarwendah to maintain proper legal and administrative standing.
