Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah’s custody fight fuels public feud in Indonesia
Ruben Onsu and his former wife Sarwendah are engaged in a highly publicised dispute over child‑visitation and alimony, which has drawn widespread attention on Indonesian social media. Sarwendah was reported to have used the nickname “cong” during a live broadcast, a comment Onsu said was made in front of their children and caused him emotional distress.
Indonesia’s Child Protection Commission (KPAI) said it is monitoring the case. KPAI chair Aris Adi Leksono noted that both parents appear committed to protecting their children’s rights and that the commission will await the court’s judgment on the custody lawsuit filed by Onsu. The agency warned that ongoing public exposure could affect the children’s psychological wellbeing.
