Ruben Onsu Seeks Custody in Jakarta Court Amid Ongoing Divorce Dispute

Indonesian presenter Ruben Onsu has filed a child‑custody lawsuit against his former wife Sarwendah in the South Jakarta District Court, with the first hearing scheduled for 15 July 2026. Onsu claims that the environment surrounding Sarwendah is unsafe for their children and says he has gathered strong evidence to support his case.

Onsu says the divorce was a mutual decision and that he registered the petition because both parties agreed on the process. His lawyer Minola Sebayang stressed that winning custody would not strip Sarwendah of her parental rights, noting that a custodial ruling does not prohibit the children’s contact with the other parent. Sebayang also warned that Sarwendah’s legal team had threatened to expose Onsu’s private matters during the proceedings.

Public commentary has focused on the alleged Rp200 million alimony figure, the timing of the custody filing, and the broader debate over parental responsibilities. Onsu’s friend Nanda Persada reported that Onsu feels exhausted by the dispute but remains determined to protect his children’s welfare.
