Ruben Onsu lauds improved Hajj 2026, files child‑custody suit, studies Qur'an on umrah
While on umrah in Madinah, Indonesian celebrity Ruben Onsu said the 2026 Hajj service organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah was “more orderly, more organized” and noted a more professional yet warm attitude of the staff.
After returning to Jakarta, Onsu announced he will pursue legal action to secure custody of his two daughters, saying he has faced repeated difficulty meeting them and is concerned about their involvement in commercial promotions. His lawyer said a mediation meeting is scheduled for 11 July, but a lawsuit may be filed if commitments are not upheld.
Onsu also shared his daily Qur'an study routine in Madinah, describing early‑morning prayers, a lecture at the Prophet’s Mosque gate and one‑on‑one lessons with a local ustaz to improve his recitation, writing that “each morning I must repeat the verses taught the day before.”
