Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah's Child Custody Hearing Continues in Jakarta

On 6 August 2026 the Jakarta South District Court (Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Selatan) held a mediation hearing in the ongoing child‑custody dispute between presenter Ruben Onsu and his ex‑wife Sarwendah Tan. The hearing had been postponed earlier because the mediator was unavailable, but both parties appeared as the case moved forward.

During the session Sarwendah’s lawyer Abraham Simon revealed that Ruben is using a previously unknown third telephone number, which had not been disclosed to her and has hampered communication about the children.

Ruben, speaking on Deddy Corbuzier’s YouTube podcast, said he feels insecure in front of his daughters and dismissed circulating rumors that he is HIV‑positive. His own lawyer Chris Sam Siwu also denied that Sarwendah spread the health rumor, stressing that the focus remains on the legal process.

The custody battle has attracted extensive media attention, with additional comments from lawyers on both sides and further mediation sessions scheduled in the coming weeks.
