Ruben Onsu's house faces foreclosure amid divorce asset dispute with ex‑wife Sarwendah

Divorce proceedings between Indonesian celebrity Ruben Onsu and his ex‑wife Sarwendah have expanded beyond child‑care arrangements to a contested asset dispute. Their notarised agreement assigns child custody to Sarwendah and outlines financial responsibilities, while also detailing the division of marital property.

Sarwendah's lawyers, Abraham Simon and Chris Sam Siwu, say the house she currently occupies with their children was pledged as collateral for a bank loan by Onsu. Simon warned that Onsu has missed multiple instalments since June 2024, resulting in three bank warning letters. He stated, “Selain utang yang dimiliki secara pribadi oleh klien kami dan RO, ada juga utang dari perusahaan milik RO yang menjaminkan rumah …”. The bank has reportedly issued a fifth‑call notice, a step that precedes auction of the property.

The legal team emphasized that repayment obligations for the house were expressly assigned to Onsu in the divorce settlement, and that failure to meet these duties could lead to seizure and sale of the residence, putting Sarwendah and the children at risk of losing their home.
