Rubén Darío Insua returns as San Lorenzo head coach

Rubén Darío Insua has officially returned to San Lorenzo de Almagro for his third tenure as head coach. Following the departure of Néstor Gorosito, Insua arrived in Buenos Aires to meet with the club's leadership, including Marcelo Culotta, to finalize his appointment.

Insua, who previously led the club to a Copa Sudamericana title in 2002, has signed a contract that extends through December 2027. His return follows a period of significant institutional instability for the club, which saw seven different presidents and five coaches in a 29-month span.

The new coaching staff will include assistants Fabián García, Carlos Orsi, and Roberto Oste. Insua is set to make his debut on Sunday, September 13, in an away match against Independiente for the Torneo Clausura. His primary objectives are to guide the team back into playoff contention and secure a position in the upcoming Copa Sudamericana.
