Ruocco and Scala release culinary and historical book ‘Pane e Papaveri’

Chef Michele Ruocco and writer Tonino Scala have released a new book titled ‘Pane e Papaveri - Mangiare, Amare, (R)esistere’. The work combines culinary recipes with historical and social memories, linking specific dishes to notable figures such as Rocco Scotellaro, Danilo Dolci, and Teresa Mattei.

The book serves as a poetic and civic exploration of Italian identity, using food as a medium to discuss themes of resistance, hope, and memory. Various educational institutes have supported the project, which also aims to benefit the ‘Gaza Circus School’.
