Rural Fire Service hosts community preparedness events

The Rural Fire Service (RFS) is hosting a ‘Get Ready Weekend’ to assist residents in preparing for the upcoming fire season. The initiative aims to provide community members with practical advice on protecting homes, properties, and families from bush and grass fire risks.

Several brigades in the Mid Lachlan Valley will participate in the events. Scheduled locations include the Tottenham Rural Fire Brigade and the Back Yamma Rural Fire Brigade on Saturday, 19 September, followed by the Parkes Headquarters Rural Fire Brigade on Sunday, 20 September. Residents can meet local volunteers, discuss fire risks, and learn about Bush Fire Survival Plans and the Australian Fire Danger Rating System.
