Rural security programs expand in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul

Rural producers in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso have access to specialized security programs designed to combat rural crime and improve emergency response times.

In Mato Grosso do Sul, the ‘Campo Mais Seguro’ program, managed by the Military Police, allows for the monitoring of properties. Participating properties receive identification plates with contact numbers for the Rural Police Battalion. The program maintains a registry including geographic coordinates, employee details, and specific agricultural activities to facilitate rapid response during emergencies or suspicious activities.

In Mato Grosso, the ‘Vigia Mais MT/Vigia Agro’ initiative, led by the State Secretariat of Public Security, offers video monitoring capabilities. The program provides cameras, management systems, and cloud storage for images for up to 10 days. This infrastructure is intended to monitor access points, highways, and secondary roads to assist law enforcement. Interested producers must follow specific registration procedures and provide legal documentation, such as identity records and property proof, through the official state portal.
