Várzea Grande launches women's health and rural empowerment initiatives
The Municipal Health Secretariat of Várzea Grande is intensifying Pink October actions through two specific initiatives aimed at women's health prevention and diagnosis. On Friday (23), the Health Specialties Center (Postão) will offer on-demand cervical cancer screening (cytology) and educational activities. On Saturday (24), the FEB Saúde Clinic will conduct mammographies and ultrasounds for patients previously authorized following the 'Dia D' health event held on October 10.
In a separate effort to recognize International Rural Women's Day, the municipality is highlighting the role of female producers in family farming. Local women are driving the rural economy through the production of crops like bananas and cassava, as well as livestock and dairy. According to the Municipal Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Rural Development, women represent approximately 95% of those managing stalls at the Family Fair, playing a central role in local food production and income generation.
