Rural Women's Day events held in Herencia and Corella

Various local initiatives were held to commemorate International Day of Rural Women in Herencia and Corella.

In Herencia, the programming included the ‘Vinculadas’ photographic exhibition by the Institute of Women of Castilla-La Mancha, which highlighted the roles of different generations of women in regional villages. The events concluded with the musical performance ‘Seda’ by Silvia Nogales Barrios, a musical journey through compositions by women from around the world designed to encourage women in rural areas to pursue their artistic dreams.

In Corella, the celebration featured a screening of the film ‘The Appleton Girls’ Race’, which addresses gender inequality. The screening was followed by a debate regarding the opportunities and obstacles women face in society. This activity was part of a broader campaign in Navarra titled ‘More rural women deciding’, which aims to increase female representation in leadership, political, and decision-making roles within rural territories.
