Rush celebrates 50 years of debut live album ‘All the World’s a Stage’

The rock band Rush is marking the 50th anniversary of their first live album, ‘All the World’s a Stage’, which was released on September 29, 1976. The album, recorded during three sold-out nights in Toronto, served as a strategic pause following the success of ‘2112’ and captured the band at a transitional phase. It highlighted the influence of drummer Neil Peart, who had joined the group two years prior and introduced new literary and complex musical directions.

Following the death of Neil Peart, remaining members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have reunited for the ‘Fifty Something’ tour. The tour, which began in June at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, features drummer Anika Nilles. The reunion marks a significant return for the duo, who have navigated challenges including illness, age, and the loss of their longtime drummer.
