Neil Peart documentary “No One’s Disciple” to air on CBC Sept. 23

A new documentary titled Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple will premiere on Canada’s CBC network on September 23. The film chronicles the life and career of the late Rush drummer and lyricist, who died in 2020 at age 67 after retiring in 2015. It features rare archival footage, intimate interviews with surviving band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, and performances with three renowned guest drummers – Stewart Copeland of The Police, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Danny Carey of TOOL – who jam on classic Rush songs. The documentary highlights Peart’s influence on contemporary drummers and his relentless pursuit of musical perfection. Rush’s recent activities, including their 2025 reformation with drummer Anika Nilles and the ongoing Fifty Something tour, are also referenced as part of the band’s tribute to Peart.
