Rush prepares for Fifty Something Tour with new drummer Anika Nilles
The rock band Rush is preparing for their Fifty Something Tour, marking their first live performances since 2015. The tour features new drummer Anika Nilles, who replaces the late Neil Peart.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson discussed their rehearsal process. Lee noted that while the band initially stopped to correct mistakes during early rehearsals, they eventually transitioned to a strategy of playing through mishaps to better prepare for the unpredictability of live shows.
This approach was tested during the tour's opening night when Nilles dropped a drumstick during a performance of 'Xanadu.'
