Russia-Africa Forum to convene in Moscow this October

The third Russia-Africa Forum is scheduled to take place in Moscow on October 28 and 29, 2026, at the Gostiny Dvor. The summit aims to facilitate a broad dialogue between political leaders, business executives, academics, and youth leaders regarding security, energy, education, and digital solutions.

Delegations from over 30 African nations are expected to attend. Confirmed or anticipated participants include leaders such as Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso, Assimi Goïta of Mali, and Abdourahamane Tchiani of Niger, alongside representatives from Egypt, Chad, South Africa, Gabon, and Guinea-Bissau.

The forum intends to cover various sectors, including intergovernmental mechanisms, legal frameworks for cooperation, and direct business networking in fields like logistics and agricultural technology. However, observers note that the success of these economic ambitions may be constrained by Russia's domestic budget priorities, as significant resources are currently directed toward defense spending.
