Kharkiv defense preparations and diplomatic shifts in Ukraine conflict

In Ukraine, military forces have begun installing anti-drone nets on roads in the northern districts of Kharkiv, a move interpreted as preparation for the city's defense. This follows reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense stating that 'Sever' group units are establishing a security zone in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions and are encircling approximately 1,700 Ukrainian soldiers.

Regarding diplomatic developments, Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, suggested that Russia should prioritize negotiations with a limited number of participants to achieve practical, long-term results in the Ukraine conflict. This comes amid discussions regarding European involvement in the dialogue.

In Moscow, protesters demonstrated at the German Embassy to oppose Berlin's decision to close the 'Russkiy Dom' (Russian Cultural Center). Participants advocated for maintaining cultural ties and argued that Russian culture and language should not be targets of political confrontation.
