Russia calls for continuity in relations with Serbia

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has stated that Moscow expects the new Serbian government to maintain and develop existing political, economic, and cultural cooperation. Following parliamentary elections in Serbia, Zakharova emphasized that a change in government should not result in a shift in relations with Moscow.

Zakharova noted that Russia considers Serbia a close and traditionally friendly nation. She added that Russian observers participated in monitoring the Serbian electoral process through both international missions and bilateral frameworks, and their findings will be carefully reviewed. Moscow expressed its desire for continuity, asserting that maintaining these ties serves the essential national interests of both countries.
