Russia claims capture of two villages in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region FAST-MOVING
Russian forces claim to have captured two villages, Vasyutinske and Toretsk, in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region. Vasyutinske is located east of Kramatorsk, while Toretsk lies southwest of Druzhkivka.
While the Russian Defence Ministry reported these gains, Ukrainian forces have not acknowledged the change in control of these settlements. In the Krasny Liman sector, Russian military reports indicate that drone operators successfully disrupted a rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces units.
On the defensive side, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff reported repelling 24 attacks near Kostiantynivka and Illinivka. Open-source intelligence from the war blog DeepState also noted Russian advances near Illinivka and Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian officials continue to dispute Russian claims regarding the seizure of Kostiantynivka.
