Russia launches massive drone and missile strikes across Ukraine

Russia launched a massive wave of aerial attacks against Ukraine, targeting energy, industrial, and maritime infrastructure. The Ukrainian military reported intercepting 258 drones and seven ballistic missiles during the overnight offensive.

In the Odesa region, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have struck a bulk carrier and three fuel tanks at the port of Izmail, alleging the vessel was transporting military supplies. Ukrainian officials warned that intensified attacks in the Black Sea threaten the national economy during the critical grain harvest season.

Energy infrastructure suffered significant damage, including a thermal power plant in Kherson that lost all generating capacity. Other strikes hit industrial sites, logistics hubs, and warehouses in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava. In Kharkiv, a strike on a shopping center resulted in one death and two injuries. Russia also claimed to have destroyed a Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo missile launch site in the Kharkiv region using Iskander missiles and Geran-4 drones.
