Russia expands agricultural trade with South Africa
Russia and South Africa are working to expand agricultural trade, with Russian agricultural exports to South Africa exceeding $54 million in the first nine months of 2026. This volume represents approximately 230,000 tons of products.
Wheat is the primary driver of this trade, accounting for over $51.5 million of the total. Other exports include instant coffee and millet. Beyond food, Russia's influence on South Africa's agricultural sector is bolstered by fertilizer exports, which comprise a significant portion of bilateral trade alongside grains.
A Russian agricultural exporters' delegation recently visited South Africa to strengthen business ties and explore opportunities in meat processing and investment. The goal is to translate high-level political dialogue into increased commercial flow and industrial cooperation.
