Russia faces military and domestic pressures amid Ukraine war

Russia faces increasing domestic and military pressures as the conflict in Ukraine continues. Reports indicate that President Vladimir Putin is dealing with ballooning war expenditures, slowing battlefield progress, and growing domestic dissent. Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure, including oil refineries and e-commerce warehouses, have reportedly impacted the country's ability to project control.

There are ongoing assessments regarding a potential mass mobilization of Russian forces. Ukrainian intelligence and Western reports suggest a mobilization of between 300,000 and 500,000 men may follow the State Duma elections, though some estimates suggest figures could reach 600,000 over the next two years.
